Jerry West Award watch list released with nation's best SGs

  Grayson Allen averaged 21.6 points per game for the Blue Devils last season.

As college basketball's tip-off continues to inch closer and closer, more preseason award watch lists are emerging that feature some of the best returning players as well as a flurry of breakout candidates.

 released its second of five watch lists for its positional awards on Tuesday. Twenty players appeared on the watch list for the 2017 Jerry West Award, handed to the nation's top shooting guard at the end of the season.

The Jerry West Award first debuted two years ago. The first two athletes to take home the honor were Oklahoma's Buddy Hield (2016) and Ohio State's D'Angelo Russell (2015).
